David manages a team 17 Ecological officers, plus three hosted Wildlife Trust officers; five Historic Environment advisory officers; and two Landscape Officers. His Ecology Team provides Development Management and Strategic Planning advice to both internally and external partner Local Authorities. The team won the CIEEM Local Planning Authority of the Year 2019 award for its implementation and advocacy of Biodiversity Net Gain. Pre-BNG Warwickshire LAs secured over £10 million in financial contributions and begun to create/restore over 60ha with more in the pipeline. Post-BNG we are a Responsible Body bring forward Habitat Banks to continue to deliver the Warwickshire Local Nature Restoration Strategy, (LNRS), which he prepared. WCC has just entered the NatureSpace Partnership to deliver Great Crested Newt Licencing as well as the establishment of a regulatory Carbon Market, plus others. Nature-based solutions are at the heart of the sub-region's Green Infrastructure Strategy, LNRS and a LA Natural Capital Investment Strategy has been prepared to fund the drive forward.
