My name is James Duerden aged 30 i live in the Furness peninsula near the south lake District I am a passionate athlete becoming a finalist in Britain's fittest farmer championing physical and mental health in farming, I am also a former professional rugby league player! recently i have been presented with livestock farmer of the year for Cumbria 2021. I have proudly been chairman of the British parthenais cattle society over the past three years. We have a family farm that comprises of 300 head of suckler cattle including 60 award winning pedigree Parthenaise cattle and 250 pedigree sheep we were awarded beef innovator for great Britain in 2018 for our achievements in the beef industry selling livestock and genetics all over the world providing a healthier and more profitable alternative as the parthenaise beef is up to 52% less cholesterol than the average beef animal which has lead us to recently create a new unique on line food shop providing healthy, high quality local, sustainable and environmentally friendly produce.
