Exhibitor Spotlight: Crown & Canopy
1. Tell us about your business
Born from a deep respect for nature and a desire to foster better connections with it, Crown & Canopy has become a trusted voice in glamping consultancy, design and planning.
As practitioners who have built and run our own glamping businesses, we understand our clients’ challenges and ambitions firsthand - our advice is practical, honest and rooted in lived experience, supported by our partnership with Canopy & Stars, which gives us access to guest insight and market-leading data.
Every detail is considered. We blend quality, creativity and innovation with a warm, collaborative approach - and every project begins with the land itself, guided by low-impact, regenerative principles that respect the countryside while creating lasting value for people, places and the planet.
We support a wide range of clients, from small landowners and farmers to large estates, charities and trusts. No two projects are the same, so neither is our advice - every solution is tailored to your land, your goals and your vision.

2. What’s something new or exciting that you’ll be showcasing at Farm Business Innovation?
Crown & Canopy have secured a Paragraph 5 certificate from Natural England, so we can now help you get a small-scale glampsite up and running, faster.
For landowners dreaming up a glamping business, the biggest question isn't always "will I get planning permission?" It's "which route is right for my land, and how do I get there?"
That's where our new accreditation comes in. For suitable small-scale, temporary developments, it means a quicker, lower-cost way to get a glampsite up and running. For others, it still means a full planning application. At Crown & Canopy, we help you understand your options and choose the right route for your land, your proposal and your ambitions. Through the Crown & Canopy Glamping Club, we assess, certify and manage exemption licences. A Paragraph 5 exemption licence allows suitable landowners to operate up to five temporary units without needing full planning permission, provided the site meets the relevant criteria. The development must be temporary and reversible.
3. What can visitors expect when they visit your stand?
Visitors can expect practical advice, inspiration and an opportunity to explore how unique, nature-based accommodation could work as a diversification opportunity alongside their existing farm business. Our knowledgeable team will be on hand to talk through ideas, from understanding the planning and development journey through to relevant exemption licences. Visitors can also browse a gallery of inspiring projects to get a feel for what’s possible on their own land. With access to Canopy & Stars’ market data and insight, we can also help visitors understand the potential financial viability, ROI and real-time business opportunity that this type of diversification could offer.
4. Can you share a customer success story or example of how your products or services have made an impact.
We have secured planning permission in open countryside for clients across the UK. While these projects can present complex planning challenges, our in-depth knowledge of the sector, combined with our ability to develop creative and practical solutions, means we are well placed to navigate these challenges and deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
A recent example can now be seen within the Canopy & Stars collection – Pepples Farm. Despite a number of planning challenges, we successfully secured permission for the development and worked closely with the client to design bespoke cabins that responded sensitively to the site and its setting. The accommodation is now performing strongly, delivering a high-quality, premium guest experience alongside a healthy and sustainable revenue stream for the client.

5. Why is attending Farm Business Innovation important for the industry?
Farm Business Innovation provides an important opportunity for farmers and landowners to step outside their day-to-day operations and explore new ways to build resilient, future-focused businesses. Bringing the sector together makes it easier to discover new diversification opportunities, meet experienced specialists and learn from others who are already exploring alternative revenue streams. For us, it’s a valuable platform for helping farmers understand how opportunities such as nature-based accommodation can complement their core farming business and contribute to a more diverse and sustainable future.
6. What’s the one thing visitors shouldn’t miss on your stand?
Chatting to our team on the stand is a great opportunity to talk through your project, plans and ideas with people who understand the sector. We can offer tailored advice, explore potential opportunities and help you identify the best way forward for your project.
And if you’re ready to take the next step, we’re offering an exclusive 10% show discount on our consultancy, planning and design services booked following the event.
